Your Ziton system. Your choice of what comes next.
If your building operates a Ziton ZP3 or ZP2 fire alarm system, now is the right time to start considering its long-term future.
Kidde Commercial has confirmed that the Ziton product range is currently planned for obsolescence at the end of 2028.
This doesn't mean your system needs replacing today.
Planning ahead gives you more choice and allows any future migration or upgrade to be properly planned and budgeted.
Understand the condition, lifecycle and potential obsolescence risks of your existing Ziton system.
Compare the manufacturer's migration route with alternative solutions that may better suit your site.
Plan and phase future upgrades around your operational requirements and available budget.
Kidde Commercial has announced that the Ziton product range is currently planned for obsolescence at the end of 2028, with maintenance and spare-parts support continuing for as long as components remain available.
For existing Ziton customers, this is not an instruction to immediately replace your fire alarm system. It is an opportunity to start planning how your system will be supported and ultimately migrated in the years ahead.
Kidde has developed a migration path towards its newer Kidde Excellence platform, including options that may allow existing installations to be transitioned progressively. However, this isn't necessarily the only route available.
Ascent Fire is an independent fire alarm specialist, which means we're not tied to recommending a particular manufacturer or migration route.
We'll consider the official Kidde migration pathway, but we'll also assess whether an alternative fire alarm solution could provide a better technical, operational or commercial fit for your site.
Every installation is different. Our approach is to understand what you already have, what can sensibly be retained and what you need from your fire alarm system in the future before recommending the right way forward.
Continue supporting your existing Ziton system while planning for its future.
Move towards the manufacturer's replacement platform in manageable stages.
Consider other fire alarm platforms where they offer a better long-term fit.
Where appropriate, retain suitable existing cabling and equipment to reduce disruption and cost.
Develop a clear upgrade strategy that can be planned around operational requirements and future budgets.
Where appropriate, design a new fire alarm system around your current and future requirements.
Not sure what the right next step is for your Ziton system?
Ascent Fire can review your existing ZP3 or ZP2 installation and help you develop a clear, practical plan for its future.
Our review can consider the age and condition of your existing system, potential obsolescence risks, availability of replacement components, existing infrastructure that may be suitable for retention, manufacturer migration options and alternative solutions.
The aim is to give you a clear understanding of your options, allowing future investment to be planned and budgeted rather than driven by an unexpected system failure.
No predetermined solution. No unnecessary replacement. Just independent advice on the right way forward for your site.
